Ekam / Arms Overhead

Raising the arms overhead begins the art of vinyasa, that is the body’s form being led and informed by the breath. We set the stage for movement from the outside in. This first movements in Surya Namaskara precedes the upward lifting expression of the inhale for the rest of the practice. We expereince this expression by connecting down into the ground so we can lift up, support creativity and expand.
